The pH of blood is regulated between ranges 7.35-7.45.
The pH of patient is 7.15, which is slightly acidic than normal. pH is the logirathmic function of hydrogen ion concentration in the solution. A decrease in pH implies an increase in hydrogen ion concentration making the solution more acidic. Simply put, higher the hydrogen ion concentration, lower will be the pH and the more acidic will be solution.
Here the pH has decreased from normal range of 7.35, therefore, the hydrogen ion in her blood has increased.
